Midweek Confessions

As of lately I have had my blinders on focusing on the finish line of part-time job land. In about 2.5 hours I will be at the finish line! Those blinders have made me abandon my blog for a few days, and I am really sorry. Good news, I have marked some exciting things coming up in my planner for my blog, so I am excited! I love hump days in the blogging world because I love the linky with Elizabeth (E, Myself and I -- Midweek Confessions)

{one.}

I am counting down the days to everything, lately.
Well not really. Kinda, sorta. I am really excited to have
a new apartment that is brand spankin' new to live in with my BF.
I feel like it is a small step towards something bigger. And that makes me happy.

{two.}

I was team Brooks two weeks ago, but last week he really
made me feel like he is garbage. He said, "If you would have told me you loved me, before now..."
SERIOUSLY?!
She wouldn't have kept you around this long if she didn't
have strong feelings for you. Gosh.

{three.}

I am a first year teacher. Preplanning starts in a week and a half.
I feel like I haven't done enough to prepare (material wise)
Why/How can I possibly feel this way?!

What I am Loving Wednesday {July 24}

Today is my Sunday. Tomorrow I go back to finish my last week of part time work at Office Max.. EVER! You are probably thinking, "That is the perfect job for this time of year!" ...You are partially right. Except, I feel like I can't get all my lists of things-to-get-while-I-am-working-there compiled together. I KNOW I am going to forget something really important and expensive. JUST MY LUCK! Well..IT IS Wednesday.. and I am linking up with Covered in Glitter and Glue  . I love a little bit of randomness mixed in with all this teaching stuff. I feel like it is the perfect amount of balance! So without further ado:

{one.}

So, this is the map in my classroom. IT.IS.HUGE. Do any of you have one this big in your classroom?! The edges were fraying really bad, so after I painted my classroom, I decided I would put a chevron border around the map. I am LOVING how it turned out! It really makes the map look like it is a part of the classroom now!

{two.}

I am a HUGE country music fan..can you tell? Even though I do not like David Nail's new hair cut...WHAT WAS HE THINKING? ew. His new song is AMAZING! I went to sleep last night with it stuck in my head, and woke up this morning with it still there. Thanks to mister, He played it while he was catching up on the news :)

{three.}

Okay. I do not have this jacket. yet. Last Christmas our new pup-pup chewed devoured my North Face Jacket. Ugh. I swear, puppies only eat the most expensive things of their owners. Not even their male owners...only their WOMEN owners. The ones who have SHARK WEEK once a month and that have obvious hormones! Well.. This jacket gave me some excitement, because it means that I can have a new one that makes a statement and suits for rain (perfect for Florida) and chilly nights (I mean..how chilly does it get here, really..you guys up north are probably laughing at me).

{four.}

Can you say Guilty. Pleasure. ? I love the Bachelor(ette). This season is okay. A little more dramatic than others. I think the producers are picking up on the fact that they are going to need to add a little more sugar and spice. I mean, I DO NOT KNOW what I would do without Monday nights with my girls and our boyfriends cracking jokes while watching the show. It is always a comical and fun night. Laughter IS the best medicine...Have to thank the guys for that. Sometimes they go out, but others they choose to hang out with us.
Are you watching this season? If so what are your thoughts? What about the big cliff hanger for the two part finale?

Sorry for the Forrest Gump Gif's...I love him. And they are cute. hehe.

Monday Made It {July 22}... A few minutes early!

Happy Monday! Hope everyone's weekend was fun and eventful! I am excited because I only have ONE more weekend at my part time summer job! It is an awesome feeling! This week has been really eventful in the Creative department! I have been brainstorming ways to keep my seventh graders updated on the news going on around campus (other than my class website) Let's not discuss that as a "Made-It"... I have not been able to do much to that site... For Tara's Monday Made It Linky:

I plan on calling this board my "Currently" board. I made a bunting banner for it.
It just needs some Jute string and to be hung up. For now, I just have the board:

Above: I found a cork board at HobbyLobby, Burlap (ON SALE 1.99!!), White ribbon,
Staple Gun, and a Glue Gun

I stapled the burlap to the board so it fit tightly all around the board. Then, I turned the board around and stapled the burlap around the borders of the cork board to make sure my material was as tight at possible.

Please excuse the dirty mess on the glue gun! (Am I the only one whose glue gun looks like this?)
As I glued a little around my stapled border, I covered the staples with the white ribbon.

I added a burlap bow, and tada!
 I will add my bunting "Currently" banner above the board once I get it hung up in my classroom.

My second Made-It!

I made my punch-it Hall Passes!

They are the width of an index card. I plan on making my students responsible for their
passes all year. I will help them by helping them make a special "Hall Pass Holder" in their
Interactive Notebooks at the beginning of the year.
What do you think? If you like it, it is available at my TPT store for FREE!

Also! For all my blogging friends, do you shop online?
What are your favorite stores?
I have a wedding coming up that I am speaking at that is on the beach. I am looking for a flowy
maxi dress. Any ideas? Thank you in advance!!

Happy Monday!

Midweek Confessions

Happy Hump Day!
This morning has been full of running around bargain searching for
our new apartment and of course stopping by the Target One Spot for my classroom!

I am a woman, and well-- sometimes we feel guilty for some things we
do. So this is my first week of linking up with Elizabeth from E, Myself and I

[one.]
When I go shopping I like something and put in my cart. A few minutes later, I put it back. Then go back and forth. I do not know WHAT THE HECK I AM DOING?! ...Sometimes I pack the entire cart (not really full)  with full intentions of buying everything then, get so tired of looking for THAT ONE thing, and just put everything back. and leave (Does not happen at the grocery store, though...thank goodness). {Eye Roll}

[two.]
This will be my first FULL year teaching, and well, I keep finding myself wanting to go to my classroom and decorate. I should be wanting to be at home writing lesson plans or something...right?

[three.]
I eat cereal dry. With no milk. Fruit Loops, too. WHAT?!
Don't look at me like that!

[four.]
Whenever I listen to country songs that my mister sings at gigs, my mind tricks me into
thinking it is really him singing the songs to me... his voice is similar to a few..
Romantic or Creepy?

I love Elizabeth's Blog. I started following her when I read one of her HILARIOUS recaps of Sean's season of The Bachelor.
Hope you guys have an amazing Wednesday!

Sunday Smorgasbord {July 14}

Good Evening! I have been a busy busy bee as of late! I am sorry with the random posts. I plan on getting on a more consistent blogging schedule soon! Today, I am linking up with Fabulous in First's linky: Sunday Smorgasbord. It is really fitting for my life right now. Everything seems really random, but really positive. That makes me a happy happy girl. What do you think when you see a twenty something girl randomly doing a happy dance in the middle of the parking lot?  ...

{One}
... the happy dance was because I found out that this BEAUTIFUL place is where I will be living starting
September 1st. Wait for iiittttttt!!! The pooch gets a free membership to the DOG PARK ($350/yr) [yes, in my town, we have to pay for dog parks...] I am so happy for him, and me and the mister as well! Can't wait!

{two}
Who do you think of when you see these scissors?
hint: Monthly Currently

I saw these at Office Max and I LOVE them!

{three}
This teacher binder is UH-MAZING. Thanks to my part-time job at Office Max, I was able to print this
beast up just the way I wanted it!

I have a question for my fellow teacher blogger friends. This is my first full year teaching. What do I need on my walls in my class? I have word wall stuff and CHAMP posters. Can you recommend anything else? I feel like I am missing a lot. Maybe I am thinking too much into it...

Monday Made It: Word Wall Bunting

Today has been a bit crazy around here. I did not know if I really had anything to put up for Tara's Monday "Made-It" linky party and I remembered that I DID get some of my bunting done for my classroom! I am going with a natural theme for my classroom this year. There is this rule where Middle and High School teachers do not decorate/theme their classrooms...

Now that I have my room underway with the paint, I am able to start getting these going with crafting and whatever. This week I made my name bunting for the outside of my room and the word wall bunting:

Please excuse my coffee table as my stage, but it is what it is. Ha! I have yet to add the jute string to it, but I will add the string when the painting in my room gets closer to being finished. Are you liking the bunting idea? Is the natural theme too mature for 7th grade?

Im off to see some of the things you all are making!

Liebster Award: Discovering New Blogs

I woke up this morning and grabbed my phone. Half awake, I was scrolling through my emails...Sports Authority (Delete--Ain't nobody got time fo that!)...Artsy Abode (Delete--can't afford that right now)... The Short and Sassy Teacher nominated me for an award?! I'm awake now! I don't care how big or small an award may seem, it is always the thought that counts. I am so flattered. Erin nominated me for a Liebster Award. I started this blog a few months ago with the hope to share and gain ideas from other teachers in the blog community. I was always told that I have a way of putting my sense of humor into my writing, I wanted to do that again. It is slowly, but surely coming out. Thank you to all of my followers! Each time I get an email saying I have a new follower, I do a happy dance RIGHT. IN. THE. MOMENT. Thank you for the encouragement and support. I love your comments and support. Oh Em Geee!! Erin Condren!

Did I hear this right? There is a giveaway for an ERIN CONDREN LESSON PLANNER?! Tori @ Tori's Teacher's Tips got my attention right away! I had to join in on the fun! I do not have much luck in winning anything, but I figured I would take a go at it.

I will be back later to link up with Fabulous in first grade! Have a Funday Sunday!!

Fourth Holiday Weekend(PAINT PICTURES) & Middle School Blog Hop

Happy Fourth of July weekend! I hope you all are having fun with family and friends! If you are not from Florida, you may not know that we get annual consistent afternoon showers (ugh). Me and the Mister got soaked before we could even see any fireworks.  I don't know what I was thinking when I thought a towel over my head would keep me dry. Pssshhh! Who was I kidding?! Did you see my post about the hideous mural in my classroom? I had the most amazing muscl-y armed boyfriend help me paint the first coat of paint in my classroom on Friday (there were a few wet spots when I took the pictures):
Mural Wall (One of the faces kept coming through the paint [weird, I know] that is why there is
a large wet paint spot)

This wall used to be royal blue. This is only one coat of paint

I plan on going back next week to give the walls another coat of paint to finish it up. The paint is a minty green color, and I plan on adding a chevron touch to pretty much everything. Do you like the transformation in progress?

I love finding and meeting other Middle School bloggers. I feel like they are hard to find. Thanks to Sixth Grade Tales I do not have to venture far anymore.

Must Have Monday & Monday Made It!!!

It has been a sticky Monday. Like-- a hair sticking to my face humid and rainy Monday. Oh! Did I mention I stepped off the sidewalk.. (don't worry...I didn't break any backs..), but my foot sunk into MUD! Ugh... BACK into the house to change my shoes.

On the bright side! Teaching with a Touch of Twang is hosting her Must Have Monday, today!! That makes everything better...

I don't know about you, but I LOVE simple jewelry. I do not wear a lot of jewelry, but when I do, I like it to make a statement because I will wear it all the time. This ring is from Pandora. I love it! It is not big and bulky which I LOVE! It is comfortable and makes quite a statement. I get a lot of compliments on it!

Oh Em Gee! I am so excited to show you guys my Monday Made It by 4th Grade Frolics. It is not school related, but I do wedding invites on the side and I have finished another order. This one is my favorite, so far! I have had so much fun creating them!

Have you seen these kind of these kind of these invitations with the pocket folds? They are really nifty!! How did your Monday go? Hope it wasn't as muddy as mine!
